How to Actually Change Patterns and Habits

The Secret to Change

The process of change always begins with self awareness.

You have to be able to see your habits or patterns before you can change them.

Let’s talk about your mind

From the minute you were born (actually before that but that’s another conversation), your mind has been shaping and creating who you are.

You have constantly learned from every interaction, the words you heard, the feelings and experiences you’ve had. Most of what you have learned hasn’t been on purpose, it’s been subconsciously planted. In every moment, it’s filtered your thoughts from experiences and has created your perception of the world around you. Your mind has taken it all in and created these “roads” like how you can get from your house to the closest gas station without even thinking about it.

How does this apply to changing something?

As a coach and therapist, the women I work with are seeking to outgrow one version of themselves and step into another.

This involves outgrowing or moving away from habits/patterns that won’t serve them in becoming that “next version.”

Negative self talk

Self-sabotage

Emotional eating

Handling stress

All of these are learned behaviors.

And all of these behaviors can be UNLEARNED.

The longer they have been going on, the longer it may take to unlearn them…

No matter how long they have been occurring, you will overcome them by:

  1. Developing a strong sense of self awareness (personal mastery as I say) acknowledging these thoughts and behaviors

  1. Developing the toolset to consciously create change; making the decisions and choice to choose a new way and seeing/feeling what happens when you do

(With a TON of support because change isn’t easy!)

When you see who you are, it is then you can truly change and walk into who you want both mentally and physically.

As your support, I will guide you, support you and even push you when needed to get you to where you want to be.
